En Darkstar Rising, Kevin revela que su padre fue un Plomero; a pesar de que nunca lo conocío, su madre le contó historias sobre el, y por eso quiso ser también un Plomero, otro de los motivos por los que pudo haberse unido a los Tennysons. Esto puede ser una contradicción a lo que dijo en la serie original, que fue abandonado por ser un mutante, pero pudo haber sido una exageración que el hizo porque pudo haber tenido en ese entonces una recaída. Parece que su madre esta casada "de nuevo", ya que en una línea del mismo capítulo dice "Mi padre, mi verdadero padre...", lo que indicaría que pudo haber muerto o se divorció de la madre de Kevin. Al final del capítulo, cuando fue nombrado Plomero oficial, le dice sus compañeros, que tenía que hablarle a su madre por su nuevo puesto.
